Along with development of smart and innovative products, operating the services and providing customer support for our customers, DI is about to prepare for the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that takes effect on May 25th 2018. By establishing measures and routines as an inherent part of our daily business we feel confident as the enforcement date approaches. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. Non-compliant organizations will face heavy fines after the enforcement date. In GDPR context DI mainly has the role as a Data Processor, while our customers hold the role as Data Controllers, meaning they are responsible for the data they collect.
