DI is testing the Noke padlock

November 29th 2017

DI is currently testing technologies for delivering oversized parcels to a dedicated parcel box outside of a household. We told you about the ParcelHome box last month. The idea is to make it possible for households to invest in a suitable way of receiving parcels, by making the carrier able to interact with the new locks. DI is therefore integrating various new locks and technologies into the DI delivery guide. The Noke lock is a bluetooth padlock that is using two layers of encryption. The carrier can unlock the lock by pressing a button in the delivery guide, which is only active if there is a parcel delivery to that household. The consumer can use a standard box for the deliveries and open the lock using the Noke app for iOS and Android.
