The distribution of single-copy newspapers Expressen and Aftonbladet has traditionally been parallell with the distribution of other newspapers and media products. With increasing variations in the single-copy sales, lower fillrate of the transport cars and an increased product potfolio, this way of transporting media products has been a challenge for the industry. DI has now contributed to solve this challenge by developing a solution for "joint transport for carrier deliveries" for all of the single-copy newspapers, their magazines and "one-shots", for larger parts of Sweden. The solution includes the use of DI Electronic Delivery Guide to find the retailers, deliver products and report on each executed delivery. This project has been possible through a close cooperation between DI, Aftonbladet (Schibsted), Expressen (Bonnier) and the distribution companies in Sweden. The implementation started early in April, and will be finished in June.
